Acupuncturists Without Borders
Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB) is Natural Path Academy and Parinama Cultural Development Foundation’s first collaboration project. Through the dissemination of traditional Chinese medicine, both organizations hope to make a lasting social change in the context of public healthcare. Founded on 1980 in Switzerland, AWB’s objective is to contribute to the development of greater autonomy on the part of disadvantaged populations in the field of medical care by providing them with teaching and practice in acupuncture therapy.
Since 2008, AWB Founder, Dr. Jacques Pialoux, has been coming to Shanghai to train local practitioners in rural communities. In 2010 and 2011, trained doctors and volunteers went on a training mission in Ganzi, successfully sharing acupuncture expertise with communities in need.
Natural Path Academy is an emerging enterprise committed to preserving and disseminating traditional Chinese medicine, martial arts, and classical learning. With respect to the wisdom of traditional culture, the academy brings in expert teachers from China and abroad to provide enriching courses, lectures, and activities, to assist people in caring for their physical and mental health as well as encouraging a return to a natural healthy lifestyle.
